DOT SAP
Comprehensive substance use disorder evaluation utilizing a best practice model that includes a placement screening, clinical interview, evidence-based testing, and utilization of the DSM-V and ASAM PPC 2R for service placement. Our evaluations, which can be done in-person or via telehealth, meet Iowa code 321J.22 for OWI requirements.
A DOT SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) evaluation is a comprehensive assessment process mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) for employees who have violated drug and alcohol regulations in safety-sensitive positions. The evaluation, which can be conducted in-person or via telehealth, involves an assessment by a qualified SAP to determine the individual's eligibility to return to safety-sensitive duties. The SAP evaluates the severity of the employee's substance use disorder, recommends an appropriate treatment plan if necessary, and provides guidance on compliance with the treatment plan.
